Today you will be met by a representative of Big Apes Africa and drive to Musanze Town near Volcanoes in preparation for Golden monkey trekking the next day. Should you arrive in plenty of time, you may do a short city tour before leaving the beautiful clean City by visiting the crafts market and the Genocide memorial.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the briefing point of Volcanoes National park to get to be enlightened about your adventure with the Mountain Gorillas. You are advised to carry enough drinking water and a lunch box. At a cost of 15 US dollars, you can get a potter to carry your bag and give you a hand in slippery or steep parts of the forest. After the briefing, you are distributed into groups of eight and led by a park ranger into the forest where you will spend one hour with the gentle giants. A rain gear is important considering that the park has a precipitation. After tracking, you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Red Rocks or Iby’iwacu cultural village for a cultural tour to learn about the people’s history and way of living. Lunch will be organized to be served at the lodge or in Kigali City depending on the available time. Immediately after Lunch, you will be transferred back to Kigali International Airport where you will embark on your return journey!
